Gamay, sourced from Juliénas, reclassified as Coteaux Bourguignons. 10 days maceration, then aged in old barrels for 6 months. Not fined or filtered. 10ppm SO2 added before bottling.
Much lighter than previous years, only 12% this time too. Explosive perfume on opening. Initially lots of wild berries, followed by wet earth, roses and forest floor. Super vibrant on the palate. Sweet fruit, lots of flavour with only medium weight. Cherries, wild berries and chocolate. Fine tannins. Long and lingering flavours, with a mineral finish. A really cool expression of Gamay. Serve slightly chilled.
