Jacquère from Bugey, in the commune of Leyzieu. The plot is called Aux Cries, and is made up of clay-limestone. The grapes are crushed and then pressed in a vertical ratchet press, followed by 9 months of ageing in fiberglass vats. Zero SO2. Same juice as JAJA but the vat is smaller. MIDNIGHT GRAIN for the pun on "midnight bath".
Yellowish in appearance. Quite expressive. Beautiful nose of lime and elderflower, with some apples too. And that mountain freshness. The palate delivers much of the same, with icy pole sensation energy, and a divine texture that has that almost sugary (but not sweet) sensation. Elderflower cordial with a twist of lime. And it is super clean and pristine. Medium acidity, lemon, lime and apple, and lots and lots of limestone freshness. This is really impressive. Flavours linger, very long in the mouth. Energy central. 10.2% alc.
