2018 VDF 'Coup d'Jus'

Darkish colour with vibrant red exterior. Huge smell of blackberry, boysenberry and bramble. There is a background note of very faint charcoal too. This is super expressive and pungent. Clean and aromatic. Bursted blueberries and a scratching of herbs. To taste it is aromatic in the mouth. Hyper energetic, and has that slight gas/sugar texture that buzzes on the palate. Medium in weight with lots of freshness. It’s so tasty this wine. Incredible fruit, depth and vibrancy. The acidity is lifting, and pushes forward waves of flavour. Bright and slightly tart, it showcases a living wine at its fullest. Very, very fine tannins and beautiful tension and minerality. Puckering tension, almost rocky. So much flavour and expression here, delicious!
