2016 AOP Cabardès 'Les Mômes'

Rich dark fruits on the nose. Cassis and liquorice – mainly primary fruit at this stage, feels young compared to the 2014. Quite a plush texture, more of a winter wine, and definitely a food wine – well suited to those that like a bigger style. Sweet, rich dark fruits on the palate too. My impression is that this is very good even if young – but, it will develop very nicely and gain some epic complexity with time in the bottle. Nice soft fine tannins with good grip. Would be great with a hearty dish like Bolognese. And, actually it tastes quite good with chocolate!
