40% Gamay, 20% Aligoté, 20% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. The Gamay is from old organic vines grown on clay and granite soils on the hillside of Mont Brouilly. The Aligoté, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were in the 2nd year of organic conversion in the Maranges Valley, grown on clay and limestone. The Gamay and Aligoté are co-fermented (whole bunch) in a large open wooden vat. The Pinot Noir and the Chardonnay are vinified in stainless steel vats. The wines are then aged in old barrels for 10 months before final blending. Not fined or filtered, and Zero SO2 at any stage.

Light-medium red in colour. Black and red cherry fruit, with a savoury note in the background. Lighter berries surge around the sidelines, with a good amount of baking spice. There is a line of granite that sits right through it as well. Hints of juniper and red roses – with more air the roses are really highlighted. On the palate it is soft and slippery, with light red fruits, medium acidity, and beautiful super fine lacy tannins. It's clean and tidy, with no rough edges. The tannins fall away and reveal nice mineral detail. This is quite lithe, smooth and gently layered. Very well made, and while it is easy to drink, the layers catch your attention. Dusty tannins, lifted strawberries, silky delivery and good length. Elegant and delicious!
